Family-Friendly Vegan Recipes for a Delicious Veganuary

Family-Friendly Vegan Recipes for a Delicious Veganuary
Veganuary is the perfect time for families to explore the joys of vegan cooking together. Not only does it offer health benefits, but it also provides an opportunity for family bonding and making a positive impact on the environment. Here are some family-friendly vegan recipes to make your Veganuary delicious and fun.

Breakfast Delights

Start your day with a stack of fluffy vegan pancakes. Made with plant-based milk and whole grain flour, these pancakes are a hit with kids and adults alike. Get the little ones involved by letting them mix the batter or choose their favorite toppings, like fresh fruit or maple syrup. Cooking together makes breakfast both fun and educational. We like to replace the eggs for this recipe with vegan egg replacer, and we substitute protein powder for some of the flour. This gives our breakfast an added boost.

Lunchtime Favorites

For lunch, try a hearty vegetable soup packed with colorful veggies and protein-rich lentils. This nutritious meal is perfect for keeping everyone energized throughout the day. Discuss the benefits of each ingredient with your family, highlighting how they contribute to a balanced diet. Serve with whole grain bread for a complete meal. We also print out a picture of the “Vegan Plate” and use it as a placemat for our children so they can learn about eating a balanced vegan meal and what is a source of calcium, protein or carbohydrate. I can’t say that they actually will eat or even try the vegetable quadrant, but at least they know what their protein sources are!

Dinner Time Treats

Dinner can be a delightful experience with a plant-based pasta dish. Use whole wheat pasta and toss it with a variety of sautéed vegetables and a creamy cashew sauce. Customize the dish by adding your family's favorite veggies or spices. This versatile recipe is sure to please even the pickiest eaters. Blend vegetables into the sauce if you have anti-veggie eaters.

Sweet Vegan Treats

End the day on a sweet note with a vegan protein cookie dough. This dessert is rich and creamy, using one scoop of protein powder, one tablespoon chocolate chips, one quarter cup oatmilk and one tablespoon peanut butter for a healthy twist on a classic treat. It's a delicious way to satisfy your sweet tooth without the guilt, and a favorite for my daughter.
